Numerous specialized meshing tools are available that facilitate semi-automatic block generation for complex geometric features, including multiple holes, pipes, ducts, axisymmetric bodies, circular components, and more. These tools, such as hole topology, auto-core building, 2D frame sweeping, or rotation, significantly reduce the manual effort required for block construction and accelerate the topology building process.
Hole topology tool
The Hole topology tool facilitates the automatic generation of blocks surrounding multiple holes and pipe surfaces. The tool efficiently detects circular or elliptical holes and pipes on various surfaces and automatically constructs blocks around them. Additionally, it intelligently connects these blocks to create regular patterns of hole arrangements, such as circular, rectangular, and square layouts.
Core-building tool
GridPro offers an automated core-building tool designed for rotationally symmetric objects. The process involves copying a 2D wireframe and rotating it according to a user-defined number of stations. As the rotation takes place, the central core blocks are automatically constructed and seamlessly connected with the external rotated topology. Remarkably, this automatic central core building capability works for rotational angles as small as 1 degree, all the way up to completing a full 360-degree rotation.
One significant advantage of this core building tool, distinguishing it from other grid generators, is the absence of degenerate cells or collapsed cells at the center of rotation. The central blocks are of exceptional quality, resulting in high-quality cells that are free from folds or distortions.
Periodic topology to complete topology
For periodic geometries, full topology can be generated from a periodic topology segment. The wireframe for the periodic part is copied and rotated using the specified periodicity.
Copy and Mirror tool
Mirror tool is a useful to work on a symmetrical geometry or partly symmetrical geometries. Topology for a symmetrical part can be mirrored to get a working topology for the full geometry.
